Privacy Policy

Truce ("we," "us," or "the app") is a private, on-device application for iOS developed by Kuthay Gumus ("the developer") that tracks the number of days since your last argument — a lighthearted relationship humor and self-reflection streak tracker, guided by its mascot Bicky. The developer is the data controller for the purposes of applicable data protection laws. This Privacy Policy describes what information Truce accesses, how that information is handled, and the choices available to you.

Information We Do Not Collect

Truce does not collect, store, or transmit personal information to any server owned or operated by us. There is no account, no sign-in, and no cloud sync. The app contains no analytics frameworks, no advertising SDKs, no crash reporting services, and no third-party tracking SDKs of any kind. We do not use fingerprinting or any form of user identification. We do not collect device identifiers, IP addresses, or location data. We do not sell, share, or rent user data to any third party.

On-Device Data

All your data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Your streak, settings, and any entries you make remain on your device. We do not operate any server or backend, and your data never touches our infrastructure. There is no Truce account and nothing is uploaded by the app.

Network Access

The app makes no network requests to collect or transmit your data. The only time the app opens the network is when you tap a legal or support link (Privacy, Terms, or Support), which opens in an in-app browser view. No data about you is sent in the background, and no information is exchanged with any external service during normal use.

Permissions

Truce requests no access to your personal data or device sensors. The app does not request location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or health access. It simply tracks the day count and information you choose to enter.

Sharing a Streak or a Truce Code

When you choose to share a streak or start a "Truce Code" duel, the app generates a link of the form kuthaygumus.github.io/truce/vs?… that encodes only the data you chose to share. The web page that renders a shared duel decodes that link in your browser (client-side only) — no server receives or stores it. Where you send the link, and to whom, is entirely your choice and your responsibility.

Encrypted Backup Export

Truce offers an optional encrypted .truce export that you protect with a password and save wherever you choose (for example, the Files app or your own iCloud Drive at your discretion). This export is created on your device and is fully under your control. Truce does not manage, intercept, or upload your backup file.

On-Device AI

Any text the app generates is produced on your device using Apple Intelligence / an on-device model. Nothing is sent to a server for this purpose, and no content is transmitted to us or any third party.

In-App Purchases

Truce offers optional premium features through in-app purchases managed entirely by Apple's StoreKit and the App Store. Apple processes the payment. We never see, receive, process, or store your payment details, billing address, or Apple ID credentials. All transaction data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Data Retention and Deletion

Because Truce does not collect data on any external server, there is no user data for us to retain. All app data stored on your device can be deleted at any time by:

• Clearing or resetting your data from within the app
• Deleting the app from your device (removes all locally stored data)
• Deleting any encrypted .truce backup file you saved yourself

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including but not limited to rights under the GDPR, CCPA, KVKK, and equivalent regulations), you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, as well as the right to restrict or object to certain processing. Because Truce does not collect personal data on any external server, these rights are effectively exercised directly through your device — your data is in your hands at all times. Children's Privacy

Truce is not directed at children and does not collect data from anyone. Since the app does not collect, store, or transmit data to any server, no personal data — including any data of a child — is gathered by us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of Truce after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
