Privacy Policy

Neredeydi ("we," "us," or "the app") is a geography guess game for iOS developed by Kuthay Gumus ("the developer"), designed to teach Turkish and world geography through daily mysteries and map-based games. The developer is the data controller for the purposes of applicable data protection laws. This Privacy Policy describes what information Neredeydi accesses, how that information is handled, and the choices available to you.

Information We Do Not Collect

Neredeydi does not collect, store, or transmit personal information to any server owned or operated by us. The app contains no analytics frameworks, no advertising SDKs, no crash reporting services, and no third-party tracking of any kind. We do not sell, share, or rent user data to any third party.

On-Device Data

Your game sessions, streak counter, achievements, settings, and Daily Mystery records are stored locally on your device using Apple frameworks (UserDefaults and SwiftData). This data remains on your device and is not accessible to us, except as described below.

App Group (Widget Sharing)

Neredeydi uses an Apple App Group (group.com.kgumus.neredeydi) to share data between the main app and the home-screen / Lock Screen widget. This mechanism is purely on-device; it does not transmit any data outside the streak count and "completed today" flag the widget needs to render. No App Group data ever leaves your device.

Game Center (Optional)

Neredeydi offers leaderboards and achievements through Apple Game Center. If you choose to use this feature, Apple Game Center may display your player identifier (GKLocalPlayer), the player nickname you selected, and your scores in leaderboards visible to other Game Center users. This information is managed by Apple and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. The developer does not have direct access to Game Center player records. If you do not wish to use Game Center, you can sign out via Settings » Game Center, and the app will continue to function with all single-player features.

In-App Purchases

The Neredeydi Pro upgrade is a one-time purchase (not a subscription) processed entirely by Apple's App Store. We do not receive, process, or store your Apple ID credentials, payment information, or billing address. All transaction data is governed by Apple's privacy practices. The Settings screen "Restore purchases" function uses Apple StoreKit infrastructure to recover prior purchases on a new device.

MetricKit (Device Diagnostics)

We use Apple's MetricKit framework to receive device-generated app performance reports. These reports are produced by iOS itself and contain anonymized signals about app hangs, crashes, and CPU exceptions. MetricKit data is delivered by Apple, contains no personal user information, and is used solely to improve app stability. Apple provides user-side controls for this mechanism through iOS settings.

Notifications

If you grant permission, the app may send local notifications such as Daily Mystery reminders. These notifications originate entirely on your device; they are not sent from any server, and no remote push service is used. You can disable notifications at any time through iOS Settings » Notifications or from inside the app's settings.

Map and Geographic Data

Neredeydi uses the open-source MapLibre framework to render maps from a pre-bundled, offline dataset shipped inside the app. The app does not make requests to any remote map server, does not read your location, and does not request access to device location services.

Children's Privacy

Neredeydi does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age (or the applicable minimum age in the relevant jurisdiction). The app does not require account creation, login credentials, or personal data input of any kind. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Legal Basis for Processing

Under the GDPR, KVKK, and equivalent data protection regulations, data processing requires a legal basis. Neredeydi's legal bases for processing data are:

• Consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)): You voluntarily choose to enter all data into the app. No data is collected without your active input.
• Contract performance (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)): Processing is necessary to provide the app's core functionality (storing and displaying the game data you generate).
• Legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)): Receiving Apple-generated, anonymized MetricKit diagnostics — our legitimate interest in keeping the app stable.

Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including but not limited to rights under the GDPR, CCPA, KVKK, and equivalent regulations), you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, as well as the right to restrict or object to certain processing. Because Neredeydi does not collect personal data on external servers, these rights are effectively exercised through your device and App Store settings. Data Retention and Deletion

Because Neredeydi does not collect data on external servers, there is no user data for us to retain. All app data stored on your device can be deleted at any time by deleting the app. To remove Game Center scores, use iOS Settings » Game Center » Reset Scores; this happens within Apple's infrastructure.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Your continued use of Neredeydi after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
